Howard Goodall in conversation with Edward Seckerson
Thursday 3rd October 2019 7.30pm
Bishopsgate Institute.
Howard Goodall is a musician of many facets – composer, writer and TV presenter.
He’s the Emmy, BRIT and BAFTA Award-winning composer of classic TV favourites such as The Vicar of Dibley, Mr Bean and Blackadder, but true to the spirit of one raised in the English choral tradition, he is also a purveyor of Requiems and Oratorios.
Goodall once said he didn’t particularly like musicals (apart from West Side Story) but he’s since written a whole bunch of them, including The Hired Man (his Novello Award-winning 1984 masterpiece), Girlfriends, Love Story and most recently Bend It Like Beckham, based on Gurinda Chardha’s much-loved film.
Writer and broadcaster Edward Seckerson will act as both fan and sparring partner for this evening of conversation, which promises to be the liveliest of encounters.
