Comparing Notes brings stars of the West End and Broadway to Crazy Coqs, Live at Zedel. In a lively and informal mix of performance and conversation host Edward Seckerson will be getting up close and personal with these musical theatre luminaries and emerging stars, exploring the stories behind the songs and the personalities behind the artistry.
For this show, Edward will be joined by Robert Tripolino, star of the Olivier Award-winning production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican Centre and currently playing Marius in Les Misérables in the West End.
ROBERT TRIPOLINO started as a musician, playing guitar, piano and eventually providing backing vocals for local bands around Melbourne, Australia. Robert has been working as an actor since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts, performing on stage in Australia and London’s West End. Recognised for his work in the West End, Robert played the title role in the Olivier Award winning production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican Centre. He is currently playing Marius in Les Misérables. Other credits involve playing Roger in RENT at Australia’s prestigious Sydney Opera House, as well as touring in the hit Disney musical Aladdin.
Robert has made screen appearances in ABC’s Upper Middle Bogan, Channel 10’s Mr and Mrs Murder and Neil Armfield’s acclaimed Australian film, Holding The Man.
Robert scored the music to Dreamsong, a new Australian work that played at Melbourne Arts Centre and as part of Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Other writing credits include Guilty Pleasures and Death Suits You, the latter most recently played at the Vaults Festival in London.
Robert has been an integral part in reopening the iconic Palais Theatre in his hometown of Geelong. Which now runs successfully as a venue for artists and community events to this day.
