Comparing Notes brings stars of the West End and Broadway to Crazy Coqs. In a lively and informal mix of performance and conversation host Edward Seckerson will be getting up close and personal with these musical theatre luminaries, exploring the stories behind the songs and the personalities behind the artistry.
For this show, Edward will be joined by West End star, Cassidy Janson (& Juliet, Man of La Mancha, Chess, Beautiful).

Cassidy can currently be seen in The Mousetrap at the St Martin’s Theatre playing Mollie Ralston in the Agatha Christie classic ‘whodunnit’.
As lockdown was announced Cassidy was playing Anne Hathaway in Max Martin’s debut musical & Juliet at The Shaftesbury Theatre, London for which she won an Olivier award. The show reopens in September.
Cassidy is well known for playing Carole King in Beautiful, at the Aldwych Theatre in London’s West End from November 2015 to August 2017, to rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Following a surprise visit, Carole King said of the performance: ‘Cassidy Janson literally brought me to tears this evening with her performance of Natural Woman. She was who I was, she felt what I felt. She was me!’
Cassidy’s theatre roles include playing Ruth in Dessa Rose at the Trafalgar Studios opposite Cynthia Erivo, Susan in Tick, Tick… Boom! for the Menier Chocolate Factory starring alongside Neil Patrick Harris, Paquette in Candide also at the Menier Chocolate Factory, the principal role of Maggie in Lend Me a Tenor at the Gielgud Theatre, Amy in Company at the Southwark Playhouse and Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q at the Wyndhams Theatre. She was also a member of the original London cast of Wicked and played standby for Elphaba and performed the role of Florence in Chess for English National Opera at the Coliseum with Michael Ball and Alexandra Burke. Also at the Coliseum she played Aldonza/Dulcinea in Man Of La Mancha to Kelsey Grammar’s Don Quixote.
On film, her credits include The Hike, Tail’s End, Day Trip to London, Full Circle and Coma. Cassidy also appeared in Casualty for the BBC.
Cassidy’s music career has catapulted over the past few years. In 2017 Cassidy was in the trio Leading Ladies, performing alongside Amber Riley and Beverley Knight. They recorded an acclaimed debut album, entitled Songs from the Stage which was nominated for a Classical Brit Award. Cassidy then signed to BMG records and proceeded to create her debut solo album of her own original music which also included a previously unreleased Carole King track. Her song “When A Woman” is also featured in the British movie Fisherman’s Friends
Cassidy has previously guested with The Jive Aces, performing at Glastonbury and Ronnie Scott’s as well as on tours to New York City and Florida. Cassidy also performed as a soloist at the Royal Albert Hall for Magic FM’s Magic of the Musicals and duetted with Carole King in Hyde Park for 65,000 people.
Most recently Cassidy performed as part of 2 virtual concert series ‘Leave a Light On’ and ’Tonight At The London Coliseum’. She also performed on This Morning this August singing classics originally sung by Carole King.
Cassidy also has a residency at Ronnie Scott’s. “All That Jazz” Saturday Cabaret Brunch. She hosts with her four piece band and has a guest musical performer each week.
